Instrument for nursing consultation of hypertensive patients treated in the Family Health Units
Abstract
This paper aims at building an instrument for nursing consultation of hypertensive patients treated in the Family Health Strategy, based on Horta’s Theory of Basic Human Needs. This is a methodological research carried out in Family Health units, developed in five phases: identification of empirical indicators; instrument structuring; development and validation of statements of nursing diagnosis/outcomes and interventions; instrument’s content validation; and application of the instrument to verify its practical feasibility and operationalization. The final version of a viable instrument to be applied to hypertensive patients was obtained, containing the nursing history and the nursing care planning with the identification of nursing diagnosis/outcomes and nursing interventions, as well as a space to assess the care provided. It is expected that this instrument of nursing consultation for hypertensive patients provides a higher quality of care and an appreciation of nurses role in the institution, as well as an enhanced efficiency, autonomy, and scientific knowledge to nurses work.
