Integrative review: prevention of pregnancy in adolescence and competence of nurses for health promotion

Abstract


The health of adolescent and early pregnancy in actuality, is a particularly timely, relevant, that lead discussions and provide plenty of interest. Objective: analyze the scientific knowledge of nurses regarding the prevention of teenage pregnancy from the skills of health promotion in the Conference recommended in Galway. Methods: We conducted an integrative review of the literature in Pubmed and Cinahl base of information. The sample included nine studies that address nursing activities in relation to health promotion and prevention of early pregnancy. Results: show paths to the care / nursing care, other than biological, but aimed at the educational model, which aims to promote and maintain a state of health and life of the adolescent. Conclusions: it is necessary to continue research conducting research to encourage discussion and reflection among nurses in academic and professional knowledge in this area, with a view to improvements in care provided to adolescents
