Resumo

High blood pressure is a chronic disease, which treatment alters the style of life of the carrier. This study tries to identify in the CIPESC Project the nursing procedures in the health education of hypertension patients and confirm them as professional practices of the Programa Saúde da Família (PSF). It is an exploratory-descriptive study that tries to validate the results from the CIPESC-Brasil Project, developed with twelve nurses in Fortaleza, CE. The investigation was approved by the Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa of the Universidade Estadual do Ceará and the participation was voluntary including signature of the Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido. The data was collected by means of an elaborate questionnaire about the CIPESC results of 88 learning practices for hypertensive patients. In order to follow the nurses’ carrying out of the program, nursing visits were also observed. It was found that 76 (86%) practices were widely used, 10 (11%) were used sometimes, and 2 (2%) were used seldom. In other words, all 88 practices studied in the CIPESC Project can be used in the Educação em Saúde of hypertensive patients. These practices are divided in the following: attending, 31; informing, 30; observing, 17; and managing, 10. It was concluded that the identified practices of the CIPESC Project are being executed by the nurses of the Programa Saúde da Família with hypertensive patients.
