This policy aligns with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

The goal is to maximize dissemination and reuse of licensed materials.
Copyright
By publishing in this Journal, authors transfer the copyright of their manuscript to the journal, making its content the exclusive property of the OBJN.
Plagiarism Policy
The OBJN unequivocally condemns plagiarism and self-plagiarism. All manuscripts are screened with iThenticate. Submissions showing unacceptable similarity to previously published work will be rejected. In such cases, the OBJN follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and workflows.
Authors must disclose any use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as language models or chatbots, during manuscript preparation. AI tools may not be listed as authors, since they cannot be held accountable for accuracy or integrity. Authors bear responsibility for verifying and editing AI-generated content to eliminate errors, biases, or plagiarism, and for providing proper attribution for any source material used.
Digital Preservation and Archiving
The OJBN employs the LOCKSS system for digital preservation, enabling distributed archival copies among participating libraries.
Archiving is conducted via the PKP Preservation Network.
Authorizations for storage and access of content can be consulted through the Diadorim or Miguilim information services (click on one of the images):
Editorial Workflow
The editorial workflow begins when the manuscript is submitted through the ScholarOne system. Next, an analysis is conducted to verify compliance with the mandatory documents (administrative checklist). The manuscript is then forwarded to the Editor-in-Chief or Deputy Editor, who will decide whether it should proceed in the editorial process or be rejected, based on its alignment with the journal’s scope. A favorable decision at this stage does not constitute final acceptance of the article, as the quality of the study is not yet evaluated. The manuscript then undergoes a similarity analysis using the iThenticate software. Based on the generated report, the OBJN may contact the author(s) to clarify any identified similarities. If cases of plagiarism or self-plagiarism are found, the article will be rejected. If the manuscript is deemed suitable to proceed, the author(s) must pay the evaluation fee.
After payment, the manuscript will be sent to the Section Editor appointed by the Editor-in-Chief. The Section Editor will assign two reviewers to evaluate the manuscript under a double-blind peer review process, maintaining the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. The reviewers may recommend acceptance, rejection, or request revisions, either in form or content. The Section Editor will make a recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief or Deputy Editor, who will decide on the approval, revision, or rejection of the manuscript, based on the reviewers' assessments and the Section Editor's recommendation. It is important to note that a request for revisions does not imply acceptance of the study. Revised manuscripts will undergo a new analysis by the Editor-in-Chief or Deputy Editor and may be resubmitted for peer review, with the possibility of being either accepted or rejected at this stage.
Once the manuscript is accepted, the author(s) must pay the publication fee and submit the manuscript along with the Title Page for revision and translation by one of the translation agencies accredited by the OBJN. The editorial process will only proceed for those submissions accompanied by translation certificates issued by the accredited agencies. The journal does not accept certificates from external agencies. Upon confirmation of the publication fee payment and verification of the revision and translation certificates, the manuscript will undergo a normalization checklist to ensure compliance with the journal’s guidelines. At this point, the manuscript may be adjusted up to three times to meet the required changes; otherwise, it will be rejected. After normalization, the scientific text undergoes pre-publication editorial procedures, such as the production of HTML, PDF, and EPUB formats, DOI assignment, and licensing. Before final publication, authors receive a layout proof for approval. Finally, the article is published on the OBJN website, where it is made freely and fully accessible to the public.
